More fog and ice

Ottawa Citizen photo of the carnage on Highway 416 this morning.

If you are travelling around eastern Ontario and southern Quebec tonight be prepared for icy roads and low visibility in fog. A moist air mass in place is creating ideal conditions for ice fog to form. Fog this morning led to two major multi vehicle collisions on Highway 416 between Ottawa and Manotick. Nearly 70 cars were involved in the crash with only minor injuries reported. The highway was closed for several hours. Similar conditions are possible tomorrow morning along with light snow and freezing drizzle. Radar tonight is showing precipitation in the region along the 20, 401 and 416/417. The air will dry out later in the day and it will turn sharply colder.
